Hanover, October 27th, 2017. Semperit today announced a voluntary tire exchange program covering 1.182 van tires VAN – GRIP 2 tires in 215/65 R16C. Due to the use of a not specified compound material, the tires could potentially result in a tread separation. This could result in tread material loss with potential negative effect on vehicle handling. To date, Semperit has not received any reports of accidents or injuries in connection with this condition. The exchange program is initiated proactively to avoid any potential risk to vehicle drivers and other road-users. The affected tires were delivered to customers Germany, France, Hungary and Poland.

The last four digits of the DOT serial numbers indicate the production period (week/year). Affected tires will be replaced free of charge. No other tire sizes, production periods or product lines are affected.
Semperit’s owner Continental began notifying the respective national authorities on October 26, 2017 and is in contact with its tire dealers to organize and implement this voluntary exchange program.
